Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, San Francisco's sensational psychedelic rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Rebel Toronto!
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (usually abbreviated as BRMC) is a psychedelic rock band that was formed in San Francisco in 1998. It’s composed of Peter Hayes (vocals, guitar, bass, harmonica, synthesizer), Robert Levon Been (vocals, bass, guitar, piano), Leah Shapiro (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and was originally called The Elements. After finding out that the name was already taken by another band, members decided to name themselves after Marlon Brando's motorcycle gang in the 1953 film The Wild One. They cite acts such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Verve, The Rolling Stones, T. Rex, The Velvet Underground, The Call, Love and Rockets, Daniel Ash, and The Jesus and Mary Chain as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 3 live albums, 13 singles, and a lot of their work has been featured in several movies (The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Southland Tales, Life After Beth), TV series (True Detective, Arrow, Chuck, Sons of Anarchy, Six Feet Under, Chicago Fire), TV commercials, and video games (NHL 11, NHL 14, Guitar Hero World Tour, Driver: San Francisco, Batman: Arkham City, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Shaun White Snowboarding).
