Liam Gallagher, England’s sensational pop and rock artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Rebel Toronto!
William John Paul "Liam" Gallagher was born in Burnage (Manchester, England) in 1972 and is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist (guitar and tambourine). He cites John Lennon as a significant influence and his musical style is best described as a blend of rock, alternative rock, and Britpop (a UK based music and culture movement in the mid 1990s which emphasised "Britishness", and produced bright, catchy pop music partly in reaction to the US led grunge music and the UK's own shoegazing music scene). Some of his work has also included elements of many other genres such as punk, indie, new wave (a genre of rock music that moved away from smooth blues and rock and roll sounds to create pop music that incorporated electronic and experimental music, mod, and disco), and jazz. He made a name for himself as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis and then formed indie rock band Beady Eye after Oasis’ dissolution. Beady Eye split up in 2014 after which he embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album (As You Were) comes out in October 2017 and he’s performed at Norway’s Bergenfest and at Glastonbury.
