Sensational alternative rock artists Switchfoot and Lifehouse are bringing their signature sounds to the Rebel Toronto!
Switchfoot was formed in San Diego in 1996 and consists of Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass guitar, backing vocals), Chad Butler (drums, percussion), Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and Drew Shirley (guitar, backing vocals). They took their name from a surfing term as explained by Jon in an interview; “We all love to surf and have been surfing all our lives so to us, the name made sense. To switch your feet means to take a new stance facing the opposite direction. It's about change and movement, a different way of approaching life and music.” The band made a name for itself in the Christian rock scene but it wasn’t until the inclusion of their songs in a film (A Walk to Remember) that they achieved mainstream recognition. The exposure led to a record deal and the band released their major label debut album (The Beautiful Letdown) in 2003. It featured the hits ‘Meant to Live’, ‘Dare You to Move’, and went on to sell over 2.6 million copies. They went on to have a stellar career with 5 more studio albums (one of which won a Grammy award for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album).
