Streetlight Manifesto

11th August 2017 - Friday 19:00

Streetlight Manifesto, New Jersey’s sensational ska punk artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Rebel Toronto!

The band was formed in New Brunswick (New Jersey) in 2002 by Tomas Kalnoky (former member of ska punk band Catch 22). He gathered a group of musicians - Josh Ansley, Jim Conti, Dan Ross, Jamie Egan, Pete Sibilia, and Stuart Karmatz – to complete the band’s line up. Their musical style can be best described as a blend of ska punk (a fusion of ska and punk rock that often features wind instruments and horns such as saxophones, trombones and trumpets, making the genre distinct from most other punk rock) and punk rock (a rock music genre - developed in the early to mid-1970s in the United States – that typically uses short or fast paced songs, with hard edged melodies and singing styles, stripped-down instrumentation, and often political, anti establishment lyrics). The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Tomas (lead vocals, guitar), Matt Stewart (trumpet, backing vocals), Karl Lyden (trombone, backing vocals), Jim (vocals, tenor and alto saxophone), Dan (tenor and alto saxophone, backing vocals, Mike Brown (baritone and alto saxophone, backing vocals), Pete McCullough (bass, backing vocals), and Chris Thatcher (drums). They’ve had a stellar career with 5 studio albums.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to ska punk and punk rock music!
